Hi, and welcome to my blog! I’m Shane Hazlewood.

Are you a writer and/or musician? Are you a songwriter, worship leader, or worship musician? Do you write blogs, books, or other content or copy? Maybe you sing, play an instrument, or record music for yourself or others.

If you do one or more of these creative activities, you’ve come to the right place.

I love to write songs, lead worship, and make music on my guitar and other instruments. I also enjoy teaching others to play guitar, recording my songs, and writing about my life experiences as well.

Though I have reflected on my life growing up as a missionary kid in Taiwan, a youth minister’s kid in the U.S, and my experiences as a former worship leader, I am currently worship musician for my church and a singer/songwriter who aspires to influence the Christian music world through whatever means I can through this blog.

Please join these journeys with me to discover common experiences that connect us, to learn wisdom and insights about our differing experiences, to discover together how to make this world a better place, challenge the Christian music and worship industry’s status quo, and maybe someday, somehow change the course of history!

I first learned to play a few guitar chords as a child, but then I took piano lessons, played trombone in the school band, and eventually I graduated with a music ministry degree while playing trombone, voice, and piano.

I finally came back around to learning guitar from a music store class as a 25-year-old and have loved it ever since.

I pray that you are inspired as a fellow musician, worshiper, and person developing in your creativity, personal growth, and spiritual life. Together we can learn from the various struggles in life from childhood to adulthood and to use them as opportunities to strengthen our musical expression and influence on our communities, our churches, and our world.

I promise to publish at least one blog a month about various topics relating to music, worship, creativity, personal growth, personality theory, spiritual development, and other similar topics in order to give you the inspiration, resources, and community in which to begin to thrive as a world-changing musician. I may interject other posts here or there, like a YouTube video of a recent song I’m writing, or talk about a current event or highlight useful resources for you.
